Tyra Banks hailed the 'original live-action Barbie' with tribute to iconic movie

Tyra Banks has been hailed the “original live-action Barbie” after she shared a tribute to her Life-Size character ahead of the release of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie. The model played a Barbie-like doll character in the 2000 movie Life-Size.

Way before Greta’s Barbie movie with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling was confirmed, Tyra played the role of an iconic fashion doll. The model and movie actress shared a throwback snap of her character and fans couldn’t spare their reactions over Tyra’s resemblance to Barbie and many called her the “original live-action” doll.

Tyra Banks transforms into iconic Life-Size character

The America’s Next Top Model TV star took a trip down memory lane and paid tribute to her character from the beloved fantasy movie Life-Size. The movie originally debuted in 2000 on ABC’s The Wonderful World of Disney.

The celebrity model transformed into the iconic character, a fashion doll that Lindsay Lohan’s character brings to life in an attempt to resurrect her deceased mother.

“Ken, you’re leaving me for WHO???” the Dancing With The Stars presenter captioned her Instagram post.

Tyra hailed the “original Barbie”

Tyra’s throwback picture attracted plenty of reactions and many of her social media followers called her the “original live-action” doll.

“The original Barbie!” one of her fans proudly proclaimed. “The original LIFE SIIIIIIZE!!!!!! Show them how to do it gurrrrrl!!!!!!” another fan commented.

Someone else said: “Ken made a huge mistake! Eve is better.” A fourth one wrote: “Eve is forever my number one Barbie.”

Moreover, another fan added: “Eve walked so Barbie could run in 2023!!!”

Tyra reprised her role in Life-Size 2

Tyra reprised her role in the movie’s sequel, Life-Size 2, which debuted on Freeform in 2018. America’s Next Top Model judge returned as the fashion doll alongside co-leading star Francia Raísa who played a young businesswoman.

Lindsay, who recently welcomed her first child with her husband Bader Shammas, wasn’t able to reprise her role in the sequel due to her busy filming schedule.

Tyra is excited about a potential third Life-Size movie. During an appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live in 2020, the model revealed that another installment is in the works but there haven’t been any more promising updates to this date.
